Here's an interesting study that made the press this week:
Are dietary patterns in childhood associated with IQ at 8 years of age? A population-based cohort study

It essentially associates junk food (processed, high sugar, high fat foods) at a younger age with lower IQ's later in life. It is perhaps an example of the mind-body connection. A healthy body contributes to a healthy mind in my estimation, and this is supporting proof. It would be interesting to evaluate the physical fitness of these kids and correlate that to their IQ.
